"WORLD CLASS!"
TONY BLAIR

"The compensation came with miss suzannah clarke's beautiful rendition of our national anthem. She looked like a million sovereigns in a dress from the jousting era and sang like an angel."
Euro 96 Opening Ceremony National Anthem, Wembley Stadium, Ian Wooldridge, Daily Mail

"...Above all, Suzannah Clarke scored a personal triumph as Lucia. The soprano's beauty of tone in Donizetti's floated melodies was matched by her command of his most florid writing, her warmth in love by her fever in the famous mad scene."
Lucia di Lammermoor Autumn 2003

"...the little sung bankruptcy aria was an absolute delight; her control in Caro nome from Rigoletto was excellent. It was, however, her encore, which was her celebratory triumph and earned sustained applause."
Opera Gala Concert, Cork Ireland, Irish Examiner January 2003

"...Sweet, bright and subtle...Suzannah Clarke has a well-schooled voice that holds a smooth line and tackles light coloratura with ease. She also displayed theatrical awareness in arias and duets from Faust, Lucia di Lammermoor and Rigoletto where she put across the characters' vulnerability admirably."
Opera Gala Concert Dublin, Ireland. The Irish Times February 2003

"...Suzannah Clarke is a bright and luscious toned coloratura soprano who treated us to the lyrical tones of the Jewel Song from Gounod's Faust and Un Bel Di.....her naturally warm stage-presence and formidable vocal talent struck up an immediate rapport with her audience."
Opera Gala Concert Dublin, Sunday Independent February 2003

"... Suzannah Clarke sang with delicious vivacity and inspiring top notes - ending in ringing triumph."
Lucia di Lammermoor, London Evening Standard

"... A firmly characterised Lucia, the Mad Scene carried through with an impressive emotional power, was a singular pleasure, a genuinely moving experience...."
Lucia, Lucia di Lammermoor, Holland Park, London, The Stage

"... Suzannah Clarke as the Dew Fairy gave notice of a promising young soprano."
Hansel and Gretel, English National Opera, The Times

"... Suor Angelica…boasted a delightful cameo from Suzannah Clarke"
Opera Magazine

"... but all is not lost, because the quite stunning voice of the young love-struck Nanetta - played by Suzannah Clarke - was plenty of compensation ..."
Nanetta, Opera Nova

"... and the portrayal of Papagena by Suzannah Clarke was a pure delight. Her duet with Papageno was a sparkling moment of great fun, colour and vibrancy."
Magic Flute, Cleveland Opera

"Suzannah Clarke's Pamina was beautifully sung and sensitively portrayed."
Magic Flute, Opera Nova

"... ITALIANS IN GREAT BRITAIN LIKE OPERA. The singers, in particular Suzannah Clarke, and pianist David Jones, displaying a repertoire of high artistic merit, delighted the audience ..."
Il Messagero Italiano

"The music was provided by a superb soprano, Suzannah Clarke. She quickly revealed a fine voice, a pleasing platform presence and an unostentatious style and charm."
Baroque Recital, Samling Foundation, Windermere

Oh Suzannah, sing for us again
Music lovers across Cumbria were given a taste of what was in store at the first performance of the year from Northern Sinfonia, together with the stunning soprano Suzannah Clarke . . .

A superb first performance from Suzannah . . . A faultless and confident performer throughout, she showed great command of her repertoire and proved a delightful presence on stage - no nerves here for the soprano who sang in front of millions at the opening ceremony of the Euro 96 football championships.

This was the soprano's first appearance with the Northern Sinfonia - let's hope it will be the first of many.
